Eric Churchill Named Hotelier of the Year


On December 2nd, 2015 the Rhode Island Hospitality Association named Eric Churchill, General Manager - Providence Marriott Downtown and Vice President of Operations, Meyer Jabara Hotels was named as Hotelier of the Year. The award was presented during the annual Stars of the Industry Award Celebration.

Eric Churchill joined the staff of the Providence Marriott Downtown as General Manager in 2006 as part of the Meyer Jabara Hotel Management Company. Active in the hospitality industry for over 25 years he currently holds the position of VP of Operations for Meyer Jabra Hotels overseeing ten hotels.

A 1993 graduate of Johnson & Wales University, with a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Eric has received numerous awards throughout his active career in tourism. Eric displays his commitment to the hospitality industry by inspiring current students as well as attracting prospective students to the industry. Believing that a productive hotel is established by satisfied guests and happy associates,

Eric consistently leads with a passion that ensures the effective and efficient operation of the hotel. He inspires his staff and attracts the industry’s best talent. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Rhode Island Hospitality and Tourism Association and the Providence Tourism Council; and is the Chairman of the Board of the Providence Warwick Convention and Visitors Bureau. Eric has achieved and continues to achieve excellent results with his absolute commitment to this profession.
